One-to-One Volunteers
We match volunteers with consumers for shopping, reading and clerical tasks. You might help a neighbor get through the weekly pile of mail, choose products together at the grocery store, or pick out greeting cards together at the pharmacy. The Western MA and Central MA offices need volunteers for leisure activities and medical transportation. Training about blindness is provided. We have more than 100 people waiting for volunteer assistance.

Central MA:
Call (508) 854-1733 or E-mail VolunteerW@mabcommunity.org
Greater Boston:
Call (617) 972-9119 or E-mail VolunteerB@mabcommunity.org
Western MA:
Call (413) 734-7343 or E-mail VolunteerS@mabcommunity.org

Buddies/Mentors
Join one of the consumers from MAB's Developmental Disability program in Greater Boston for a trip to the movies, a meal at a restaurant, or another social or recreational event. Many of MAB’s residential clients have limited family opportunities, and a relationship with a new friend or mentor would enrich their lives. Past volunteers have offered piano lessons, transportation
to houses of worship, and invitations to holiday meals.
